Grants: How to Apply

Decisions on grant applications are normally made by Council which meets at the start of April and in mid-November each year.

The deadline for applications for the next Council meeting is:

19 March 2010.

Applications received after this date will not be accepted. There is no formal application form but if you would like to apply we ask that you consider the following:

Be specific. Exactly what are you asking the Classical Association to contribute? E.g. the number of bursaries/type of prize sponsorship. What is your target audience?
If you are applying for conference bursaries, please include a programme.
If you are applying for bursaries, your conference should normally expect to break even before you count the CA contribution.
If you are budgeting for student bursaries, please remember that any bursaries counted in your income must also be shown in your expenditure.
Include details of any other sources of funding you have applied for
.

There are some things which we simply cannot support or contribute to. These include general unspecified running costs, living costs, salaries, book purchases and reserve funds.

For a basic budget template, see the example here. Please feel free to download and use this template when applying. If you are applying for an event which will take place before the next Council meeting, please contact the Office.
